Dash for Health to Take Place October 29th
ZIAD Healthcare, and Rouge River Gateway Partners will conduct the Dash for Health on October 29th. Z. I.A. D Healthcare for the Underserved Inc. is a non profit 501c3 that provides primary healthcare for the uninsured, and Rouge River Gateway Partners a partnership for Rouge River Environmental projects consists of the City of Allen Park, City of Dearborn, City of Dearborn Heights, City of Detroit, City of Melvindale, DTE Energy Co.,Edward C. Levy Company, Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford Comm. College, The Henry Ford, Marathon Ashland Petroleum, Rouge Steel, U of M-Dearborn and Wayne County. We expect that over 1,000 will join us in the Dash for Health and bike, walk, run, stroll down the new connector trail of Hines Dr. and through five cities. Everyone is invited to join in the Dash for Health as a celebration of Environment and Health. A special guest appearance from Raye Hollitte "American Gladiator" is expected. Levy Company, Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford Comm. College, The Henry Ford, Marathon Ashland Petroleum, Rouge Steel, U of M-Dearborn and Wayne County, as well as many others including the Governor's Office of Community and Faith Based Initiatives will partner and conduct the Dash for Health on October 29th. The Dash for Health will start at the University of Michigan Dearborn and end at the University of Michigan Dearborn going in a circle via Hines Dr. through five Michigan cities of Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Inkster, Garden City, and Westland. Participants can go as far or as little of the length as they wish with a maximum of 20 miles.

Everyone is invited to join in as a celebration of Environnment and Health, as Robert Ficano Wayne County Executive and special guests inaugurate the new connector and celebrate at a ceremony at the University of Michigan Dearborn at 12noon with a great program and some free food and beverage.
After Z. I.A. D. Healthcare and the Detroit Westin Airport Hotel will host a Child and Adult Halloween party at the Westin Detroit Airport Hotel Ballrooms.

9:30 a. m. from U of M Dearborn, Environmental Interpretive Center to Nankin Mills and back (approx. 20 miles).
10:30 a. m. from U of M Dearborn, Environmental Interpretive Center to Helms Haven Park area and back (approx. 10 miles).
11:00 a. m. from U of M Dearborn, Environmental Interpretive Center around Rouge Gateway Trail (approx. 1 mile).
